We talk a lot about dental hygiene and keeping your teeth and gums healthy. That's because these things are important; cosmetic dentistry requires a healthy foundation in order to have success, and we urge you to take your oral care seriously.

- Make dental hygiene a habit: It's impossible to overstate the importance of sound dental hygiene. If you want to keep your teeth healthy and beautiful, you have to practice sound dental hygiene- brush your teeth twice a day and floss at least once a day. Don't make this something you have to remember – make it a habit, something you just do every morning and evening without thinking about it.
- Avoid teeth grinding and clenching: The grinding and clenching of your teeth is often involuntarily. Many people don't even know they're doing it. But if you catch yourself grinding or clenching your teeth, see your dentist about finding a solution. Teeth grinding can do a number on your teeth and jaw and cause serious long-term issues.
- Cut Sugar and Smoke: There's little you can do for your teeth that's better for them than quitting smoking and cutting your sugar consumption. Cigarettes and sugary drinks are horrible for your long-term dental health.
And, of course, it's vital that you see your dentist at least once every six months. These regularly scheduled appointments will eliminate plaque and tartar that you can't reach at home.
